Art Installation Project
The Variation of Blackness is based on "Exploring the Nuances of Black, Quare, Afro-Caribbean Asylum Seekers in U.S. Higher Education," which aims to illuminate the unique experiences of Black, Quare, Afro-Caribbean asylum-seeking students in U.S. higher education. Using autoethnography and poetry, the project will culminate in a multimedia exhibition that integrates research findings to foster an understanding of this often-overlooked population.

Focuses on Black, Quare, Afro-Caribbean asylum-seeking students in U.S. higher education.
Uses a combination of autoethnography and poetry to explore intersectionality, race, sexuality, and identity.
Seeks to create a multimedia exhibition featuring 6-10 poems and visual/audio elements.
Aims to raise awareness and foster community engagement within the university.
Promotes a deeper understanding of the variations of Blackness and the social construct of Black identity in America.
Encourages a sense of belonging and inclusion for marginalized students.
